Paintings & Drawings

工作台 拷贝 2.jpg

My drawing practice revolves around experimentation and exploration, leading to the emergence of recurring elements. One notable example is the unexpected reappearance of cartoon figures and toys, such as Hello Kitty, which I had previously attempted to move away from. To me, she symbolizes the joyful, carefree girl within. However, in moments of intoxication, I’ve given her exaggerated, humorous feminine traits—like high-heeled boots—infusing the work with a sense of dark humor. Perhaps this is my way of confronting the reality of being an adult woman, blending whimsy with a subversive edge. The swirling brushstrokes that envelop these figures reflect a rebellion against their original, polished forms, and serve as a medium for reinterpreting these familiar symbols. Moving forward, I aim to delve deeper into imagery that exists between figuration and abstraction, focusing on the grotesque and exploring psychological states that resonate with the experiences of Gen Z women.
